SaaS or master services agreement
Your customer contract, ready for business customers. Terms for your customers, users and partners.
What it is
A SaaS or master services agreement is the contract between your company and its business customers. It covers access to the product, fees and renewals, service levels, security, data and limits on liability, with an order form for each customer’s pricing and scope.
Business customers expect one, and procurement will send back paper that doesn’t deal with data, security and liability on reasonable terms. One master agreement can cover several purchases, so you aren’t negotiating from scratch each time.
You likely need this if
- You’re selling to businesses, not only to individual users
- A customer asked for your contract or for data processing terms
- You’re sending quotes or invoices with no agreement behind them
- You’re moving from pilots to paid contracts

Questions founders ask
What is an order form?
A short document for each purchase that sets out the customer, the products, pricing, term and any special terms, and points back to the master agreement.
What if a customer sends us their own contract?
That’s common with larger customers. We can review their paper instead, which is priced as a contract review. Enterprise-specific terms added to your own agreement are quoted before work starts.
Do we need data processing terms?
Often, once customers send you personal information to process for them. Data processing terms can be added to the agreement and are quoted before work starts.
