Terms of Use
Last updated October 28, 2026
These terms apply to your use of this website, operated by For Founders Law PC (“we”, “us”), a law firm in Toronto, Ontario. By using the site, you agree to them.
General information, not legal advice
Our guides, posts, glossary, free tools and the Loop assistant give general information about Ontario and Canadian law. They aren’t legal advice, they may not reflect the latest changes in the law, and they can’t take your specific situation into account. Don’t act on them without advice from a lawyer about your circumstances.
Legal services are provided by lawyers licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. The information on this site is about the law of Ontario and the federal law of Canada that applies there. It isn’t written for, and may not be right in, other provinces or other countries.
No lawyer-client relationship
Using this website, chatting with Loop, using a tool, sending us a message or your results, or booking a call doesn’t make us your lawyers. A lawyer-client relationship begins only when we have checked for conflicts of interest, confirmed that we can act for you, and you have signed our engagement letter. Until then, we haven’t agreed to act for you and you shouldn’t rely on us to protect your interests or meet any deadline.
Please don’t send confidential details until we’ve confirmed we can act for you. We may already act for someone whose interests conflict with yours, and if you send us confidential information before we’ve checked, it could stop us from helping you or another client. A short description of what you need, and the names of the people and companies involved when we ask for them, is enough to start.
About Loop, our AI assistant
Loop is an AI assistant that runs on a language model provided by Anthropic. It is not a lawyer, not a member of our staff and not a person, and a lawyer doesn’t review its answers before you see them. It answers from the content on this site, as general information. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, so please check anything important with a lawyer before you act on it.
Loop doesn’t review your documents or give advice on your situation. Our “Loop explains a clause” tool explains what clauses of a given kind usually do; it doesn’t say whether a clause is fair, standard, enforceable or safe for you to sign.
Please don’t share confidential information, documents or other people’s details with Loop. Our Privacy Policy explains how chats are handled.
Our free tools
Our tools, including the legal health check, the SAFE, vesting and budget calculators and the checkers, give general information, estimates and self-assessments based only on the answers you enter. A score, a verdict such as “likely” or “leans federal”, or a calculated number is not a legal opinion on your business and doesn’t predict any outcome. Real results depend on your facts and the exact terms of your documents.
Fees shown on the site
Prices on this site are starting prices for the base scope described with each item, in Canadian dollars, excluding HST, government fees and other disbursements. Work outside the base scope, and the things listed with each item as changing the price, are quoted before we start. Your fee is confirmed in writing in your engagement letter before any work starts.
Using the site
Please use the site lawfully. Don’t try to disrupt it, gain unauthorized access, overload the forms or the assistant, try to make the assistant ignore its instructions, or use them to send spam or abusive content. We may limit or block access to protect the site and its users.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t be limited by law, or our professional obligations to our clients.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about them will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
